Give a Child a Family Africa (GCF) is dedicated to supporting vulnerable families to prevent family breakdown and the separation of children from their homes. When staying with their family is not an option, GCF offers emergency placement for children in safe, nurturing environments with assessed and trained families. Committed to family-based care, GCF works to avoid institutional placements and runs a foster care programme which provides assessed and trained foster parents for children who cannot return to their own families, offering them the stability and support they need to thrive.

At Sunshine Life Centre, we provide urgent relief to families in the Eastern Cape facing extreme poverty or crises—offering food, clothing, bedding, and essential support. Our team conducts home assessments to understand their needs, and beneficiaries collect their aid parcels from our centre. Beyond emergency relief, we empower them with ongoing mentorship, workshops, and skills training to help them secure jobs, start businesses, or create sustainable income through manufacturing. PSFA is a registered South African non-profit organisation dedicated to combating child hunger in schools. Since 1958, PSFA has served over two billion nutritious meals to impoverished learners, improving their concentration, attendance, and academic performance. PSFA’s holistic school nutrition support programme ensures thousands of children receive the nourishment they need to thrive, reinforcing the fact that you can’t teach a hungry child. A donation of only R950 will enable PSFA to feed a child for a year, and R100 will feed a child for a month. Our goal is to ensure that 500 learners will receive 2 daily meals for a year (R950 X 500 learners).

HopeTown is based in Ocean View, Cape Town, South Africa. We are a youth-based community development NGO and reach out to the disadvantaged families in the community. We offer an internship programme centred around skills training for young people who have dropped out of school. We also reach out to about 130 kids in the community with dance, art, sports, tutoring and youth events. Our small high school offers Grade 7-9 and bridges a gap to enable vocational training. The products made in the internship programme are sold at our shop locally and also online. All the proceeds go back into the organisation's goal of educating and uplifting young people from difficult backgrounds.

Fim da Fome Animal é um projeto comunitário da Anjos d’Ajuda que oferece apoio alimentar regular a animais abandonados e resgatados em Arraial d’Ajuda, Bahia. Todos os meses, entregamos ração doada ou adquirida a pequenos abrigos e lares temporários que cuidam de cães e gatos em situação de vulnerabilidade. Muitos desses animais foram vítimas de negligência, maus-tratos ou abandono, e a alimentação é o primeiro passo para sua recuperação. Nosso objetivo é garantir que nenhum animal passe fome enquanto espera por uma segunda chance. Com apoio contínuo, podemos ampliar nosso alcance e responder com mais agilidade às necessidades urgentes da nossa comunidade.

Common Good works with 1,800+ faith communities in 9 provinces, supporting 18,000+ families to become better parents and give their children a brighter future. They also support 9 no-fee public schools in 3 provinces, reaching over 8,000 learners. Through 40+ partners, they train more than 1,500 people annually to find meaningful employment opportunities.

Abraham Kriel Bambanani is a registered NPO providing care and skills development for traumatised children and youth in need, in the greater Johannesburg area. We provide shelter, physical care, rehabilitation and skills development for beneficiaries that had been subjected to trauma, abuse, molestation, poverty, neglect and unemployment. This is done via residential care, community services and educational programmes

Book Dash is a social impact publisher of open, African picture books for very young children. We work with creative volunteers to create and distribute high-quality books for preschool children to own at a fraction of traditional publishing costs. And we share our content and our model freely under an open licence, so people around the world can (and do!) use it for exponential impact.
