The Dyer Island Conservation Trust (DICT) was founded in 2005 and has evolved as a positive force dedicated to safeguarding marine life at the tip of Africa through research, conservation, and environmental education. The African Penguin and Seabird Sanctuary (APSS) was built in 2015 as a support system for injured seabirds including the critically endangered African penguin. South Africa is home to one of the most biodiverse ocean ecosystems on earth, and through our work we raise funds to protect this globally important marine environment, for the creatures that call it home, for the benefit of nature, and for the well-being of coastal communities whose survival depends on it.
