This website ("Website") belongs to Doelshop. By using the Website, you agree to these terms and conditions ("Terms and Conditions"). They apply every time you visit the Website, on your phone, computer or any other device.
You may not transfer your rights under these Terms and Conditions to anyone else. You may not use the Website in any way that is contrary to the law.
By using the Website, you confirm that you have legal capacity and are permitted to accept these Terms and Conditions.
We may amend these Terms and Conditions in whole or in part at any time. We publish the new version on the Website, together with the date on which it takes effect. If you use the Website after that, you agree to the amended Terms and Conditions.
Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions:
- "Doelshop" ("we", "us"): Doelshop, a trading name of ShopDonation, Vondelwende 52, 2182 VV Hillegom (Chamber of Commerce number 63810573), owner of the Website.
- "Website": the platform at www.doelshop.nl, including all services and pages.
- "User": anyone who uses the Website or registers on it, such as shoppers, Webshops and Causes.
- "Webshop" or "Retailer": a business that offers products or services on the Website through Affiliate Links.
- "Cause": an organisation, club, group or person (such as a foundation, sports club, school or association), whether officially registered or not, that is listed on the Website in order to receive Donations.
- "Affiliate Link": a special link to a Webshop that lets the Webshop see that a purchase comes through the Website.
- "Commission": the amount a Webshop pays Doelshop for a purchase made through the Website.
- "Donation": the part of the Commission that goes to the chosen Cause. We use the word "Donation" on the Website as the name for this amount. Legally, it is not a gift but a fee paid to the Cause for its participation in the Website, including the display of its name and profile. This also applies if the Cause does not promote the Website itself.
Nature of the Service
Doelshop.nl is a shop-and-donate platform: you support a Cause of your choice by shopping at Webshops through the Affiliate Links on the Website. We do not sell anything ourselves and we do not represent the Webshops and Causes on the Website.
Services and Purchases
When you buy something through the Website, you support a Cause. Doelshop is an affiliate website: the Webshop pays us a Commission for purchases made through our links.
The Cause receives the Donation amount shown on the Website, but only if the Webshop actually pays the Commission to us. You can follow this for every purchase on the Website. If a purchase is cancelled, discontinued or delayed, the amount may still change; to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for this. After your purchase, you have no control over the amount intended for the Cause.
A Cause that registers on the Website automatically appears on all websites of the ShopDonation franchise. This allows the Cause to receive Donations from other countries as well. Each Cause can create its own international ShopDonation link; the shopper then chooses in which country he or she makes a purchase.
Content of Causes. By registering a Cause, the Cause grants Doelshop a free, non-exclusive licence, for as long as the Cause is registered, to publish, reproduce, adapt and translate (including with the help of AI) the texts, photos, logos and other material it supplies, and to display them on all websites, newsletters and social media channels within the ShopDonation franchise and in search engines. The Cause declares that it holds the rights to this material and that persons shown in photos have consented to publication. The Cause indemnifies Doelshop against all claims by third parties (such as photographers or persons shown in photos) relating to this material. After the Cause has been removed, Doelshop removes the material from the websites; newsletters already sent and posts already published on social media may remain.
We do not own the Webshops and Causes on the Website and have no control over them. We are therefore not responsible for their products, services or activities.
If a purchase is cancelled, suspended or delayed, Doelshop does not receive a Commission and nothing goes to the Cause either. The Cause receives the accumulated amount every quarter, once it reaches €50 or more (based on purchases with the status ‘accepted’).
Amounts below the minimum remain reserved for the Cause until the minimum is reached. If a Cause has not received an amount shown as paid out in its account, it can report this to Doelshop at info@doelshop.nl.
A payout to a Cause is a fee for its participation in the Website (see the definition of "Donation"). With each payout, the Cause receives a credit note that Doelshop draws up on behalf of the Cause (self-billing); by registering, the Cause agrees to this. A Cause that is liable for VAT states this and its VAT number in its account; its credit notes will then show VAT where required by law. The Cause is responsible for the accuracy of these details. The Cause can see all its payouts and credit notes in its account.
We or the Cause itself may end the Cause’s registration. This ends Doelshop’s obligations towards the Cause and we remove the Cause’s details from the Website.
Doelshop retains part of the Commission for its costs and business operations. More information is available on the Website or on request.
Intellectual Property
By "material" we mean everything on the Website, such as text, video, images and sound, whether it belongs to Doelshop or to someone else.
You may not copy, store, transmit or distribute material from the Website for commercial purposes unless we have given our prior written consent.
The intellectual property rights in the material belong to Doelshop or to its licensors, advertisers or partners. You do not acquire any rights to it. The material is protected by Dutch and international copyright law and other intellectual property laws; you may not infringe these rights.
Liability
We do our best to keep the information on the Website accurate and complete, but cannot guarantee this. The information is intended for information purposes only. To the extent permitted by law, Doelshop gives no guarantees regarding the Website and the information on it.
Some texts and translations on the Website have been created with the help of AI and may contain errors.
To the extent permitted by law, Doelshop is not liable for damage resulting from the use of the Website, including damage to your devices or software.
The Website may contain content from others; their own terms apply to it. Doelshop has no control over it and does not vouch for its accuracy, completeness or lawfulness. To the extent permitted by law, Doelshop is not liable for damage resulting from your use of or reliance on such content. We do not grant you any right to use that content.
The Website contains links to websites of others, over which Doelshop has no control. A link to another website does not mean that we recommend that website or its products.
Webshops and Causes act on their own behalf and cannot bind Doelshop to anything.
You may not use the Website to:
- distribute unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, vulgar, obscene or otherwise offensive material;
- make, send or store copies of material protected by intellectual property rights without the owner’s permission;
- send material that encourages criminal offences, unlawful acts or other breaches of laws, regulations or codes of conduct;
- gain access to other computer systems without permission;
- disrupt other people’s use of the Website;
- breach laws on public telecommunications networks;
- disrupt or impair networks or websites connected to the Website.
Indemnity
If you breach these Terms and Conditions or the law, or use the Website in an unlawful manner, you will compensate the damage and costs that Doelshop suffers as a result, to the extent permitted by law.
Reporting Infringement of Rights
Doelshop respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects Users to do the same.
If you believe that content on the Website infringes your intellectual property rights, you can send us a written notice containing:
- a description of the protected material and the basis of your claim;
- the link to or the exact location of the material that you believe is infringing;
- your name, address, email address and telephone number;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not permitted by the rights holder or by law;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or are authorised to act on behalf of the rights holder.

After receiving a valid notice, we will investigate the matter promptly and remove or block the material if necessary.
Causes
Doelshop may check whether a Cause really exists and whether its details are correct, for example the name, the bank account number and the contact person.
Doelshop may refuse or remove a Cause at its own discretion and without prior notice.
Doelshop does not guarantee a Cause any minimum Donation amount.
To the extent permitted by law, Doelshop is not responsible or liable for what Causes do, say, publish or spend.
Causes are themselves responsible for the lawfulness and accuracy of their activities and communications.
To the extent permitted by law, Doelshop is not liable for damage resulting from fraud, false information or misuse by a Cause.
Retailers and Webshops
Webshops on the Website are independent businesses. They must comply with the law and with the terms of their affiliate programmes.
Doelshop may refuse a Webshop or remove it from the Website at its own discretion and without prior notice.
Doelshop does not vouch for the availability, accuracy or quality of the products and services of Webshops.
Accounts
You can delete your account at any time via your account settings or by sending us an email. A Cause can ask us in the same way to delete its page.
We may block or close an account if the User breaches these Terms and Conditions or the law, or misuses the Website (for example through fraud, fake accounts or manipulated purchases). Where possible, we will state the reason in advance.
Our App
These Terms and Conditions also apply to our mobile app. The app is free. If you download the app from the App Store or Google Play, the terms of that store also apply. Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms and Conditions and are not responsible for the app, its content, maintenance or support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and Conditions and may enforce them against you as a user of the app.
Our Browser Extension
Use of the browser extension is optional. The extension lets you know when you can support a Cause with a purchase from a webshop. A Donation only starts when you click on that notification. Some webshops do not allow purchases via browser extensions; the extension shows nothing at those webshops.
Product Information
Prices, availability and other product information come from the webshops and their affiliate networks and may contain errors or be out of date. The price and terms in the webshop apply. When you search, we sort the products by relevance to your search query. If we show paid placements, they are marked as "Promotion".
No Partnership
These Terms and Conditions do not make Doelshop and a User, Webshop or Cause partners, associates, representatives or employer and employee. Doelshop acts solely as an independent intermediary.
No Endorsement
The fact that a Webshop, product, service or Cause appears on the Website does not mean that Doelshop recommends, approves or vouches for it. As a User, you should therefore do your own research.
Invalid Provisions
If a court declares a provision of these Terms and Conditions invalid, the other provisions remain in full force.
Force Majeure
Doelshop is not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond its control, such as natural disasters, government measures, war, pandemics, strikes, cyberattacks or technical failures.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by Dutch law. As a consumer, you retain the protection of the consumer law of the country where you live. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands; as a consumer, you may also go to the competent court in the country where you live.
